Hurricane Katrina Video By Lord Chaz

As some of you may already be aware, Lord Chaz, patriarch of Dark Theatre Productions and star of Vampire Street Theatre remained in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath that followed. Once the storm had passed Chaz, his brother Joshua, and their neighbor Glenn Theriot participated in rescue and recovery efforts, distribution of food, water and nescessary suplies to those in need, and took hundreds of pictures and hours of video footage of both the storm as well as the devastation it left behind.

The video footage below is a small compilation of what they saw during and after Hurricane Katrina. Though we intentionally did not include any pictures or video footage of any of the "human" tragedy, be warned that the images and footage contained in the movie graphically show the devastation both during, and after the storm.

We know that you were all very concerned for their safety during this trying time and wished that they had not chosen to remain. We are also certain that this video will quite possibly only serve to deepen your anxiety. However, please rest assured that they all have come through relatively unscathed. Though the footage may be disturbing, we are sharing it with you so that you can see, through their eyes, the storm, and the aftermath, that was Hurricane Katrina.

All footage and still images were shot by Lord Chaz, Joshua, and their neighbor Glenn Theriot ( with a bit of help from Lord Chaz' diminutive "side-kick" Daemon ).

At the end of the video, a list of reputable charitable organizations will be displayed for those of you wishing to make donations, either in the form of financial contributions or offers goods and services, to aid in the relief of Katrina victims. We strongly recommend that you visit each of the web sites listed so that you may determine where you offer would be most effective and beneficial.

The video has been tested to work in Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, as well as Firefox browsers and will open in independent windows.

There are two versions of the same movie. The first is a high resolution version for High-Speed Broadband connections ( DSL & Cable ), the second is a low resolution version for slower "Dial-Up" connections. Both are "Streaming" versions and will automatically begin to play as it downloads. Note that the low resolution version is of lower quality and text may be difficult to read. For better viewing, once the video begins, "double-click" on the movie window to swithsh to "full screen" mode. A second "double-click" will return you to standard "windowed" mode.

There is also a link beneath the embeded player on both versions so that you can download the entire movie to you hard drive so that you can play it in even higher quality "offline" in your own viewer.

The movie is 11 minutes and 47 seconds in length. The high resolution version is 46.4 megabytes in size, the low resolution version is 10.7 megabytes in size.
